Promoting Education

In Kenya, public school is technically “free”, but families must still pay the cost of books, registration, lunch, and uniforms. Many poor families, like those in Bodoi, cannot afford these school fees and thus their children are unable to get a basic education.  Friends of Angaza Nuru is committed to reversing this reality for members of the Lower Bodoi community.

With the building of the Angaza Nuru School in the village, as well as the Scholarship Program, education has become more accessible, and is now seen as a valued priority in the village.
